Todd Ensign, Ed.D
John HolBrook - Head Referee
John Holbrook has been involved in robotics competitions as a student, mentor, and volunteer for nearly 20 years. He is the lead for robotics outreach at Fairmont State University’s SciTech Education Resource Center, where the West Virginia Robotics Alliance provides technical, logistical, and volunteer support for over 30 robotics competition events across WV each year, from local qualifiers to signature events and everything in between. As a head referee, John loves to help students get the most out of their hard work on event day by understanding and following the game rules. Outside of robotics, John enjoys travel and making & fixing things.
Todd Ensign, Ed.d - Head Judge
Todd Ensign is a faculty member of Fairmont State University and an Outreach Specialist for the SciTech Education Resource Center (ERC) where he works with an extraordinary team designing and delivering innovative STEM programs for educators and K-16 students across the state. In addition, he founded the WV Robotics Alliance that is dedicated to expanding competitive and educational robotic programs across West Virginia and ensuring WV is an annual destination for regional and international robotics tournaments. Todd holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Design with a focus on educational robotics form West Virginia University, a M.Ed. in Educational Technology with an emphasis on GIS in education, and a B.S. Ed. in Earth Science Education from Northern Arizona University. When not educating and inspiring our future workforce, Todd can be found running, biking, paddling and skiing in the woods, rivers, and on the ski slopes of the Mountain State.
