Volunteers are the heart of the Route 66 Robot Rally. Whether you're welcoming teams, assisting with competition, supporting judges, or helping behind the scenes, you'll play an important role in creating an unforgettable experience for nearly 1,000 students from across North America.


As a volunteer, you'll receive a commemorative event T-shirt and the opportunity to inspire the next generation of innovators while being an essential part of building tomorrowโ€™s workforce.

About the Competition

Event Information

Welcome to the inaugural Route 66 Robot Rally, a premier Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) Signature Event celebrating 100 years of Route 66 while inspiring 100 teams of the next generation of innovators.


This exciting national event will welcome nearly 100 RECF Engage robotics teams to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Up to 50 Elementary School teams and 50 Middle School teams will compete in two divisions, showcasing creativity, teamwork, engineering, and problem-solving through the Engage Robotics Competition.


The Route 66 Robot Rally is more than a competitionโ€”it's a celebration of STEM, innovation, and the future workforce. Students, coaches, mentors, families, and industry leaders will come together for an unforgettable three days of learning, collaboration, and competition.
Three teams from each division will earn a coveted invitation to advance to the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) Worlds in St. Louis, where they will compete against the best teams in North America.
Who Can Participate?


The Route 66 Robot Rally welcomes RECF Engage Elementary and Middle School teams from across North America. Whether you're a veteran team or attending your first signature event, we invite you to join us for an incredible competition and experience. Space is limited to approximately 50 teams per division, so register early to reserve your spot. If registration reaches capacity, be sure to join the waitlist.

Event Tip: During November 22-24, daylight hours are shorter in Albuquerque. Most attractions close between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, so plan museum visits earlier in the day and save Old Town for the evening.
